I’m battling a head cold, like so many friends I’ve heard from, so I’ll leave my complaining at that. The most serious effect is impairment of my typing skills, which aren’t great even when I’m healthy. Makes me sound silly on Twitter feeds, but I’ll get over it.
This morning I did the first session of four workshops talking about e-business to small business owners, on behalf of a local agency, thanks to a recommendation from Emma, who is off on a semi-world tour wowing various crowds. The room was packed and the crowd was responsive. I’d like to take that as a good sign of people looking for new options in difficult times.
Took the rest of the day to rest and recover, except for taking a call from a recruiter for a major marcom agency. They are looking for a senior IA (to relocate, so not for me), but would take someone with even a year’s experience and train them. I wish I could pass on some names. Good to know some people are hiring and very pleased to know it’s happening in my field.

Hope you are over the head cold.
For years, I have taken zinc at the first sign of a cold. Zinc (zinc gluconate glycine) is homeopathic and is available in the States as lozenges. It’s the best cold remedy I have found.
When a head cold threatened recently, I took zinc along with mucinex (over-the-counter in the States). Excellent results.
And, don’t forget the nettie pot to irrigate your sinuses.
