I’ve Flown the Coop Again

I’m in chilly downtown (but they call it uptown) Saint John tonight, my first visit to this city as far as I remember. Can’t see much because it’s already dark, but on the way in from the airport, the road was lined with cottage-like houses on big lots, many of them decked in lights and looking quite charming. It’s nice to be a visitor in a Canadian city for a change. The Americans are usually friendly, but the ordeal of their security and customs process at the airport is just too tedious after a few times. I saw at least three Tim Hortons on the way to the hotel – must be Canada.
