Little Bit of Boston

I saw a tiny bit of Boston today, thanks to a colleague who kindly guided me to Harvard via the subway. We walked around the main campus buildings, still alive with students trekking through the damp evening, and eventually found a brew pub. Suitably refreshed, we moved on to a bookstore, then finally back across the river. I hope to see a bit more of the city in daylight before I leave this week, but the days are pretty full.

Yesterday's sessions were all via the CM Professionals organization, a small but growing community of practice that appears to be suffering from a management crisis. The problems were evident this week with a dramatic relaunch of its website, unfortunately in an unready state. That an association dedicated to the practice of professional content management should so completely bungle an effort like this is painfully ironic.

I'm back, and yet I'm away

Back to blogging at last, but only because I have escaped temporarily from the chaos of moving along with juggling several demanding work projects. I'm in downtown Boston in a sumptuous hotel (gulp, at my own expense) to take in a content management conference for the next four days. I expect it to be an excellent break from the madness of filling boxes with far too many worldly goods and the insanity of drawing website wireframes in the middle of the night.

The mega-move we have undertaken from Mississauga to Owen Sound is proceeding pretty much as planned. We should be all in one place with our stuff within the next three weeks.
