All is Ephemeral
Our blog files were hacked today, which means that our blogs disappeared for a couple of hours. Fortunately, our webguy, Bob, was on the job as usual and got the problem fixed in short order. Which is to say nothing is permanent and immutable. It is a concept I have embraced lately, that nothing really can be counted on to endure. Nothing is constant, reliable, forever. That doesn't mean that nothing has value. On the contrary, it means that everything must be valued for what it is right now. That gives immense value to the present moment, which is all we have.

If there's one place where your words have impact on me, Lynda, it is at the Special Care Nursery in Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital where the little mites are struggling to get going on living despite, in some cases, insurmountable odds. Preemies, of course, start out behind the eight ball and some are here for weeks and months. Others, like Avery, my grandson, was born with a lung infection which meant five days of antibiotics. All his wires are off now and he is being watched over for another couple of days. The nursing staff and doctors who care for these little ones deserve praise for efforts beyond the call of duty. I spoke with a couple of nurses who should be off shift but were staying back to check on one or another of the babies. God be with these infants in their fight for life, and with those caring for them.
Love, Mum
