No laughing, please
Yesterday was all about pain, hence no post from the patient. I suspect it was, at least partly, my punishment for some reckless laughter Tuesday night. Contrary to the common belief that laughter is good medicine, in my case, belly laughs are to be avoided at all costs, at least until I heal some more. Today things look brighter and feel better. It's a treat to be snug inside in January, now accompanied by an exotic tropical anthurium from my daughter -- it reminds me of Hawaii -- and a beautiful arrangement that sings of spring with tulips, lilies, roses and loads more from the McKays. Wishing you all blooming visions.

Lynda is chuffed that she has not had to have so many pain killers and is finally eating a bit more nourishing stuff. Yes, Nancy, I made her some tapioca and she wolfed it down but refused to have cream on it in the interests of not gaining too much weight.
Moving slowly but deliberately she is able to enjoy reading the Globe and knitting. Last night we watched Chicago on DVD. When part two would not play in the DVD player, we just loaded it onto the computer and saw the conclusion. Such technology blows my mind.
We are coping with a few challenges including a stopped-up drain which necessitates dishpan hands and a hold on laundry - but nothing life threatening, as we say.
Tracy stopped by to bring some more flowers - lovely tulips glowing pinkly.
All three dogs were on my bed last night. Must say I didn't need an electric blanket.
Many thanks to all for messages and prayers.

Hi Lynda:
And Bob and Doreen:
It is so wonderful to read about your recovery and to know that it seems to be going so well. I do hope that you can laugh again by now without hurting. Those doggies make good comforters in more than one sense of the word. We have a kitty boarding with us over the weekend while our son and family are in Ottawa doing the canal skate, ski, swim, etc. thing. I was awakened by purring this morning.
Your flowers sound lovely, hopeful portents of better weather. I think your mother might as well stay down there for the winter, she might not be able to get back here until spring anyway. We are being bombarded with snow, steadily. Many roads are closed, many businesses closed early today, extra-curricular activities have been cancelled.
Take care of yourself, keep getting stronger, and enjoy some of this time off, too.
Rosemary. Best wishes from Duane too.
